How does the biomass heat of corn compare with other fuel?
One Bushel of corn has as many BTU's as...
5 therms of natural gas,
5 gallons of LP,
3.2 gallons of fuel oil, or 131 kilowatt hours of electricity.
What size units do you have?
We have units that generate different levels of biomass heat, 50k BTU, 100k BTU, 200k BTU, 300k BTU, and 500k BTU.
What size is right for me?
To determine how much biomass heat you will need we suggest you look at the size of your existing furnace and size according to that. If that is not available then you can contact us for a suggestion.
What is the cost? How much is shipping? How is it Shipped?
This depends on the model you need and the distance shipped. We can answer these questions when you make your initial inquiry.
What kind of corn do I need to burn?
Our Biomass Furnaces use shelled corn, it is not necessary to screen the corn. For maximum biomass heat efficiency the corn should be clean and dry (15% moisture or less).
Do you have financing available?
In order to purchase an Eagle Manufacturing Biomass Furnace you must put down a $500 deposit, when the Corn Furnace is complete we accept cash, check, or credit card.
Do I need a chimney?
Yes, it is never acceptable to vent two different types of heating units together.
Can this tie in with my existing heating system?
Absolutely, an Eagle Manufacturing biomass furnace is designed to be a stand alone unit, or an add-on to supply biomass heat to an existing system.
Who does the installations?
We recommend you use an HVAC Certified installer. Or call your local heating contractor for the installation. A professional installation is a requirement for warranty.
Is the unit cheaper if I buy directly from the factory?
Eagle Manufacturing will sell direct, although we will only sell direct If there isn't a dealer near your home.
How long will it take to get a unit if I place an order?
1-2 weeks.
What does the warranty cover?
Five Year Warranty on the Heat Exchanger. One Year Warranty on all other parts
How much corn will these units use?
This all depends on the amount of space you need to generate biomass heat, as well as the weather. On average, most homes use 250 bushels of corn during a heating season.
